What the hell is a distributor?

so i am gonna clean out my engine bay, and it said to cover Intake and the distributor, and i have no clue what hte distributor is. can someboday post a pic so i know what to cover or atleast describe it?

follow all of your spark plug wires to an area where they all plug into 1 spot. (not the spark plugs) that's gonna be the distrbutor.

we don't have a distrubter but that is what you would wanna cover there but even thats not bad just don't directly spray them with high pressure water

ok, i was wondering why i had never heard of a distributor, not that i'm a car genius by any means though. should i cover up my Intake even though i have a CAI so i'm probably not really gonna be spraying directly on it?

Depends on how hard you are gonna be blasting this thing.

If you are using a power washer, I wouldn't use it on the CAI.

If you are using a garden hose or something, then I wouldn't worry about it. Just give it an hour or so to dry.


Also, don't wet down anything in your engine bay if your car, especially the engine, is still warm. Let it cool before you apply cold water to it.
