Celica Forums General Discussion General check engine light

My check engine light came on while driving today, still have my warranty so we took it in to toyota and turns out it needs a new catalytic converter and head. The guy who leased my car before me was in his late 20's im told. He had added a carbon fiber dash, and a gts emblem on the 01 gt, i think he really dogged the car and thats what caused those 2 things to go out, but i have no clue what they are and if they could have caused the problems due to racing or driving it hard, also i had to get new tires recently because they were so bald. The guys at toyota said this problem rarely happens with a car, and hopefully they wont think its due to me driving it hard, because i have rims. They gave me a 04 camry to drive while my car is being fixed, its huge! i had to manuveur into a parking spot like 3 times today, but its got a enormous little box area between the two seats that i like, and a sun glasses compartment between the visors, outside temp reading, but i hate out the lights arn't automatic.

wow it seems like they are treating you pretty fair...dont let them get lax in how they service your car...good luck
