first of all i would like to say that "happies" (i don't know if i should disclose his real name since i don't have his permission t) went all out and answered all of my messages and calls promptly and was kind ebnough to even install the kit (which tokk some time because of my front flex bar). the mood was cheap in itself and having heard so many good things about it i said why not...i'll try it. first of all the wires look pretty cool. i got the red which matches with all the red in my car hood (ie intake, flex bar, letterings..), install was around 45-60 inutes...again mind you we weren't rushing and had a little problem with the bar...well here is what i saw so far :

a)you notice right away that your idle is smoother.it was kina rough before but has smoothed out somehow (please do not let me explain why..i have no knowledge of how this works)
b)steping on the gas THROTTLE response was better...weird. i asked him why this was so...he didn't knwo either but a lot of people have noticed this. i'm not going to lose sleep over it...the pedal seems so sensitive now.
c)stereo was a bit ...uhh...louder.
d)handling/power steering more sensitive
e)power windows respond better

well there you have it. if anyone has bought this kit and have diffrent results..please let me know. but so far i am satisfied with it. and for 40 bucks (including install). it's great. thumbsup

that's not a surprise..lots of people have been getting diffrent results...like many have experienced brighter lights...i was disappointed that my mtec still looked the same (they still looked good but i thought with the grouding kit they would look brighter). confused

Yeah there have been different results. some say their automatic tranny shift smoother. =) but these kits work great on almost any car, i just put one on my GF civic. its works very well providing her car with brighter head lights, better throttle response, and a some what louder stereo. =)

Here are are the pics of the install points. kind of hard to see. black on black.

First Ground Point from the negative battery.

Second Ground Point, from the (-) battery terminal to, Under the Fuse Box. Near the Right head light.

Third ground point from the (-) battery terminal to the Tranny, battery has to be removed.

From the Tranny to the engine block.
[Linked Image from imagestation.com]
From the right side of the engine block to the left side of the engine block, engine cover must be removed.

From left side of engine block to the left side of the engine bay near the power steering bracket. Right under the bracket, is where they terminal goes.

the wires look cool. i would get the blue set to match my car but i just want to know do they really do something in terms of hp/performance or is it mostly for looks cause i seen other ground wires that give you hp but they run about $150. do these do anything?

On a normal system, electric current flows from a positive terminal to a negative terminal through the car body. But there are much resistance at connectors of body, engine and transmission. The resistance disturbs this flow of electricity to a degree that electrical components such as computer, lamp and spark plugs cannot perform at their peaks. In order to get the highest performance out of any automobile, it is necessary to achieve a maximum electricity flow with the least resistance along its electrical circuit. In short, a grounding system does to your electrical circuit like a high performance intake & exhaust system does for the gas. We believe such system is the basic of all tune-up if you want to unleash the maximum performance of your car.

While making sure that the operational circumstance is the same, the below table indicates a 7.7% of total resistance which originates from the car body & the same 7.7% of battery voltage which is being wasted due to the absence of a grounding system.

The Grounding System can achieve an extreme improvement on electricity flow and stability by providing a direct ground path from the body, chassis and engine components to the battery negative.

This theory has been known & such system has been used in the racing world for years. Since 1.5 years ago, it has become the hottest modification performed by car enthusiasts in Japan. Its effect on automobile has been proven by dyno tests again and again.

- Faster engine start-up - You can feel the difference even with A/C on and at maximum fan speed. This system reduces the loss of electricity to nearly zero at ignition coil and produces better ignition spark.

- Stable idling - You will hear your car engine noise quieter than before.

- Throttle response - System installed. They indicate a higher torque & horsepower gain. Car used for this dyno test was a Lancer Evolution VI. A max. horsepower gain of 5hp and up has been achieved on a Honda Integra TypeR.

yes for 40.00 my systems works just as well as anyother system. =) Looks good too!!

Sounds cool! I think I'll have to buy this. My power windows seem to roll up pretty slow, so I'm hoping this will help with that.

would just putting in a better battery than the stock toyota celica battery do the same thing?

I mean, you put in an optima red-top or a sears die-hard gold and you will get more CONSTANT electricity.

why not just solve the problem at the source instead of using bandaids to patch the problems?

remember, these are not pro-stock cars that we all are driving.

Its not like using band aids. Yes, a battery will do the trick. But that battery will soon drain down and need to be replaced, plus it is more expensive. $40 and these wires will go a lot further than an expensive battery.

I just installed mine today. The throttle is one heck of a lot more responsive and i think i feel a little more power. The main thing i noticed was the shifting. It shifted a lot smoother than before. For $40...well worth it.

Did you need ramps to install these or could you just do it by sliding under your Celi? wave

one little detail, electricity flows from negative to positive, not from positive to negative

you probably could go to radio shack and buy similar cables for a lot less than 40 bucks. thanks for installation pics thumbsup

yea...its all done from the top of the engine bay. The hardest part was taking out the battery...and that wasnt hard at all. they were all talking about the bass being louder and i didnt notice it at first but then i remebered that i disconnected the negative battery cable and it reset everything including the bass back to 0...so i put it back up to 3 and it seems to be as loud on 3 as it was when it was on 4 or 5. maybe its just all in my head but thats what i think.

there are two theories, that being one of them. nobody knows for sure.
Electron current goes from neg to pos. Electrons actually do move with a drift velocity.
Conventional current, which is used by electrical engineers, goes from pos to neg for historical reasons and the fact that semiconductor symbols and electromagnetic field conventions will make sence.
It's fairly arbitrary, the math will come out the same either way.

I plan on making these cables myself (just wire and connectors from Home Depot) so I don't have to shell out $40. I'm thinking zip ties are best for keeping them neat and out of the way.

Hey Hanh, your kit looks decent, just one thing...

No alternator ground? Wouldn't that cause problems? Especially with the charging system? If the alternator is using stock cables, wouldn't there be the chance of a hotspot in the alternator's wiring harness? or does the celica use a one-wire alternator...

TIA,
