OK I have a new 2004 GTS Action package and I really need some help determining if 17" rims effect the comfort of my ride or the pothole factor?? I have had a car with bigger rims and lowered and I'm not looking to go through that crap again having to look out constantly for bad spots in the road because of my wheels.
I do realize that 17 may look better and if you really have no problems with the ride or having to be careful let me know.
I appreciate all your help! Any 16" lovers out there??

I had 17's on my last car... which had even lower profile tires than you'll have with 17's on a Celica. The ride quality is fine, and you'll never bend them with a pothole. 18" is the smallest that really has those problems
I'm just a crosshair I'm just a shot away from you

wheel size is just not about looks and worrying about "potholes".
It's also about tire revolutions, the smaller the tire the faster it will spin (better for the low end), the bigger the tire, the slower it will spin (better for high end). Just don't put big-ass pointless rims like chromed out 18's or something stupid, keep it real.
I would keep the stock rims, i like them.

I would keep the stock rims, i like them. true to an extent... but the difference between 16's & 17's once you put a lower profile tyre on there would be most likely nothing at all. 17 inch just look heaps better, that's about the only difference you'd ever notice... 17's fo sure and like i said in your chrome or silver thread... the pain in the ass factor between 16's & 17's is very minor, and damage... not likely till ya reach 18's 17's actually improve the ride over 16's... beta cornering & being a wider rim 2 will improve highway/highspeed stabilty why bother getting different rims if only 16's, havent you already got 16's???
