Question About Rear Wheel Lip

If you go outside and put ur hand inside of the upper part of the wheel well, you can find a lip that is there. i wanted to know if anyone has cut this off and shaved it so its not there on the inside.

reason why i want to cut it and smooth it, is because my rear 18x8 rub on it sometimes when i take turns or bumps it rubs. well ya its annoying.

so has anyone shaved or cut this? will it decrease the firmness of the panel? is there any reason why i can't do it?

I hear ya, I don't see any reason you couldn't grind it off. But...you would have to re-primer to keep rust from getting in there then throw some paint on it. But if you grind it off smoothly, no one would ever know it's gone. Good idea!!

you can also roll that lip over. its called rolling your fenders. a ghetto way to do it is jack up your car stick a baseball bat between the fender and the wheel and slowly lower the car. that will bend the lip. do it several times to roll the whole lip.

but they do make fender rollers. some body shops should be able to do it for you. you jsut have to be carful that you don't fuck up the paint.

sounds good. i dont think a pic is needed just go out and stick ur hand in there and you will feel it.

as for rolling it, that is what i wanted to do, i just dont want to fuck the paint up .well i'll take it to a shop maybe and see how much they will charge me. if not i will do it myself. smile

good call - if the shop charges an exorbitant price then just roll them yourself...
