So I'm facing a dilema. I went into this summer planning to trade the Celi in for a roadster of some sort... S2K or Mazdaspeed Miata. Problem is that I started thinking about it, and decided to wait a little while for various reasons. Then I started (lightly) modding the Celi. Now I don't know if I should start planning to swap the Celi again, or if I should go an alternate route and get a project car. I'd be looking at either a early 90's Miata or MR2, manual either way. Mod plans would be partially for speed, but mainly suspension. I'd have maybe 5k to drop on the car up front. If I did this, I'd be keeping the auto Celi (and maybe continue to mod it) until I'm done with school in a few years. So, serious input here please. It's going to be a big decision, but I'm sick of ONLY having a automatic 4 seater to drive.

Get an older MR2 Turbo. It would be great to start with in the beginning Performancewise and still have tons of potential, plus I rarely say older MR2's done right. I've seen a few very ricey MR2's, but that's about it.
My car is gunna be 10x faster than yours...haha... I'm gunna buy like 10 of those speedchips! I figure if 1 gets me 20hp then 10 will get me 200hp!

Def. the S2K bro...It wouldn't require that you put ANY money into it because it's such an awesome car, but if/when you do, man, it'd be that much more amazing

if you want to modify a car hardcore, i would go with the 00-01 s2000 with the high rev limiter. that car is EXTREMELY FUN to drive

IMO... so much easier (effort & wallet) short & long term to by a car that's already schimck all through. Expect problems of all sorts when modding a car, especially with high output Turbos having said that, if it's a dream to do up a car like that then go for it new cars are allways nicer too

Man, I'm shocked. Celi site and all you guys rather see me sell the Celi to get a new car than buy a cheap Toyota as a project. Hmm... this leaves me with much to think about.

Or, if you like the way the Celica looks and whatnot but would want to get a stick. Get a different color Celica that is a manual. That is what I would do.
