hey everyone...this post may seem pretty dumb but this is annoying the hell out of me... my first mod was the s2000 antenna and i installed it as soon as i got it a couple months ago...i had to take my car to the dealer for repairs so i took out the s2000 and put my stock lightning rod back in...since i got the car back the s2000 antenna will not screw in at all! the thread on the stock antenna is MUCH longer...what should i do?? buy a new s2000??

I'm confused here. Does the S2K antenna have messed up threads or something? It was pointless for you to replace the antenna when you brought it to the shop. But no harm done. You have to figure out why it will not screw back in. Is it because the antennas threads are messed up or is the mount on the car messed up?

yeah sounds like MAYBE you stripped the threads on the s2000 antenna. You'll have to take a look, like Dan said.

either you stripped the s2k antenna, or like you said, the s2k antenna has a shorter thread- just push down a lil when screwing in. i also recommend putting lock tite on the threads to prevent theft (blue bottle for car use). and like dan said, you dont need to take out your antenna when going to the dealer. in fact , i wouldnt take anything out when goin to the dealer for service, just take the mods like intake, pulley, etc off when doin warranty work.
hope this helps

you need a tap wrench and the correct size tap to go with it ... I have no idea what the correct size is

go to a local hardware store and ask for one.. or just take it to a local auto shop and have them do it. what you do is take the tap and basically re-thread it by turning it in there with the tap wrench, and don't forget to use some sort of oil, like penetrating oil to grease it up real good... it should work really good if you didn't skrew up the threads too much.
