my acceleration on my celica has always been very good, like when i tap the pedal the car responds very quickly however yesturday on my way back home to tampa after a 3 and a half hour drive i noticed that when i press down the gas pedal nothing would happen...the car responded very slow and when i pressed down harder the car would jump into the 3 or 4 rpm range...(maybe im just paranoid) but anywayz any input guys as too why this happens? and oh yah i also suspected my injen cone filter due to the fact that it hasent been cleaned in two oil changes ago...i do it every 3500 miles

it could be the filter since it may not be gettin air to make it go... if not im throwin a big guess that its your clutch man.. since when they dont work as good anymore they dont engage very well like your describin

When you guys say Tune Up...does that mean bring the car to a Toyota Dealership and pay for a Tune Up? If so, how much does that run?

How many miles are on your celica?

Things to look into: MAF, trans fluid, air filter, spark plugs, clutch, and lift bolts.

Start with the most simple thing and go on down the list, sounds like the clutch to me, rpms shooting up but the speed does not follow inline sounds like the gears slipping.

This is why I love carmax, it's only $80 for a full tune-up.
Check and balance all fluids
Tire swap and alighnment
Put new grease and stuff on whats needed
cleans all air filters
oil change
... there's other stuff, but it's great. I only pay 19.95 for parts in my engine if they go south, like when I blew my engine mounts, they replaced all 3 of them for $20, LoL and they put Polyurethane mounts in, and yes, i do notice a difference with poly mounts.
