toyota can dominate over those other companies
it just needs to be lead in a new direction for that to happen.

It'll be hard. Toyota already had the old-foggie appeal. That's who buys most cars. Kids today are now split between wanting blinged out SUVs and Performance cars. The market segment really just isn't that huge anymore.

That's very true. I can't help believing that this is the calm before the storm. Toyota knows what's going on with other car companies. They know what's selling. They know the market. They know production costs. They know how to build a damn good sports car. They know. It's just a matter of time. Be patient, there's a black ominous storm cloud on the horizon.

Toyota is trying to make the most fuel efficient cars on the market.. I yesterday read an article wich stated Toyota is planning on realeasing a complete new car on hydroxgen (not sure if that's the english word tough) in europe next year !! we al know all car brands have been working on those cars for a long time especially BWM & Mitsubishi but Toyota is gonna be the first.. and is gonna try to dominate that market to.. I think you'll be disapointed if you think the Supra is gonna come back.. it simply isn't there propably however will be a more powerfull celica in the future.. but don't count on them making a beast like the Supra again EVER atleast not on gasoline

I think toyota kinda sold us out, by not making any after market parts.
The new lotus elise is coming with 190 hp vvtl-i engine with better torque bend.
Why not make celica like that. At least make some after market parts that helps.

Toyota is doing fine in sales. They are in the top 3 car companies in the states. They even passed Ford in sales. I'm pretty sure they're making good profit with the family sedans and what not.

If you notice the way toyota markets itself, it's in phases. They had the whole Performance phase in a while back. And ahead of every other japanese automaker too. If you notice, the Supra used to be some really really hot shit. Nothing could touch it. The Celica wasn't the main player, but it sat on the sidelines. After they got done with selling off "a lot" of Performance, thye shifted towards their camrys, corollas. Those were better built and they jumped ahead of the market there too. Then came their next phase of sellingminivans when that was a hot item. Now, they're way ahead of everyone in the hybrid department, which will slowly catch on. Like all toyota fans, I hope that they do have some secrett plans to unveil some more Performance vehicles. For now, our Celicas will just have to get their shit rocked.

i don't think they are done yet. toyota bacame more family oriented because that's what was selling and appealing to more people. now with the changes happening in the automotive industry and with more younger people buying cars i'm pretty sure they have something up their sleeves. i bet you they are waiting for the right time. all the more it's a company that have both the money and the know how so i don't think they are facing a challenge there. wait and see it ill be sooner than you think. grin
