well as you all know (or don't know...) i was pulled over by a chp officer for having an exhaust that emitts harsh sounds with decible levels that reach beyond the leagal limit of 95db as per california state law. as you all know the TRD
exhaust (which is what i have)is one of the quietest exhausts and is 50 state legal...AND...is proven to be 95db compliant. so as you can imagine...i got pulled over and got a b.s. ticket. well here are the steps i took:
1)went to a state referee and got me tested so that i could recieve a certificate of compliance and test forms to present to the judge.
2)got my ticket signed off at the local chp office and show the ticket with the certificate attatched to it (the bozos even went as far as go out and rev my engine to determine that my exhaust was compliant EVEN AFTER I GOT IT TESTED AND PASSED...like they can tell exactly what 95db is as opposed to a computer)
to provide me with "ammo" to present to the court to help my case. TRD
will give you test results,CHP bulletins, noise test procedures (this is critical as even the state referee f'ed up and tested me at 5700rpm...when noise test levels by ASE standards require 3000-5000rpm.).
4)asked for a trial by written declaration (to do this you have to pay the fine, if found not guilty they will refund your money, if found otherwise they will take a portion or the whole amount)from the court house (thanks to alphasubzero949 for helping me out)...i wouldn't even bore with with why you should do a written trial by declaration as opposed to showing up in court. see...http://www.ticketassassin.com/
5)sit back and wait...
yesterday i got a letter from the court house telling me that they will refund the fine AND my case was found NOT GUILTY!!!...(no not dismissed b/c the cop didn't respond to the TBD...but NOT GUILTY, now i can put this in my car and show the cop next time i get pulled over!)
this just proves the justice system is not dead...just in a coma...thanks to everyone for your support...seacrest out!...lol
