does 225/50/17 or 205 work for our car? would the 225 have rubbing issues if i lower my car?

225/50/17 wouldn't work on stock rims (they're 15")

I've had 215/50/15 and I had no problem

I believe that the middle number is the side-wall size. that's what you would want to check if you are lowering. 50 seems a little big to me, 40-45 would be better with 17"
