I suggest you buy some brake parts cleaner, and clean the paint and the rust off that part on the rotor you painted, and make it look nice. Having paint on one part is GHETTO.

Also, don't use clear coat, it's going to break down under the extreme temperatures and make your paint tacky.

i wonder if it was alright to paint the edge you you brake pad there confused

im not sure...i guess just as long as you didn't paint the part that touches the rotor thumbsup

also...if you members suggest not to paint the part that your wheels go over (becuase it looks better)...then is there some kind of clear paint or protectant to stop the rust?

yep that is what i was thinking...tks again...that looks great... thumbsup

and also...did you hand paint it or spray??...because yours looks more detailed...like those pins in the caliper aren't painted...or did you dismantle the caliper and paint the pieces?

I sprayed the rotor, and the caliper.

I wanted a more "detailed look" so I painted the pins silver and the brake pad silver...

however, looks kinda rough on the pad, need to touch it up a little spineyes

Just wondering something...how does boiling water dry a caliper? Isn't water normally wet?

Enh just use a cleaner that doesn't leave a residue. I have painted my calipers like 3 years ago, I took them off the car, cleaned them up with an angle grinder with a wirebrush attachment. Then wiped them down and then painted them, they look like new and have 100% paint coverage.

you can see all kinds of gaps in the paint where he didn't paint the part where the wheel touches.

It looks hideous!

It took me an hour to clean all 4 rotors down to bare metal, paint/cure them and put the wheels back on, plus have a beer with my friend.

Easy thumbsup
