I'm about to get a shortshifter tonight, but can't decide which. Give me your choice and why.
TRD or TWM shortshifter?

My choice is TWM. I don't have it but I will be investing in it soon.

TRD short shifter is longer, but is the smoothest.
B&M is in the middle
TWM is the shortest and roughest but is still good.
You could do whatever you prefer though. thumbsup

from your nick...i'm guessing you have an 02 celi...if your production date is after MAY/01 then the TRD quickshifter will not fit your car. The TRD quickshifter replaces the entire housing.

However, you can still remove the Shift lever from the TRD quickshifter and use it in your car. I don't have it but i think it is around a 1" drop MAX. Smooth and soft shifts...but not horrendously different from stock.

I have a 02 also...was considering this...but felt like a waste to pay so much and throw away the housing.

I'm going with TWM because it has the shortest throw (2") and it comes with all the aluminum bushings. Cost $145 US at www.twmperformance.com [twmperformance.com] or if you live in the states $135 from claremont toyota...call them and ask for EDRICK.

You can also go with B&M which comes between TRD and TWM i believe. However, i don't think it comes with the bushings.

I've been asking the same question for a looong time...hehe...but do a search you'll find tons of posts.

hope this helps. grin

I tried the B&M shifter on a friends 6-spd. I did like the knob height but didnt like the feeling I had when shifter. It was ... hard to put it, "raw".

I purchased the TWM in may. The knob height is frikken low. You can leave the arm on the console and shift with the wrist. I like it alot. The shifting feeling is an in-between the B&M & TRD, TRD being the smoothest and B&M being the roughest.

I recommand the TWM SS. Just make sure you get it with the upgraded bushings.

Jeff

Have you tried them TRDGTS? Just wondering cause most ppl have only tried one or the other...this guy has tried both so i'm with him... grin

nope, haven't tried any. What I said is just what I always here from others. I want one but still don't know which. I have 03 so TRD is out of question + too tall.
