Celica Forums General Discussion Exterior Custom turbo

Well my friends have a crx and a integra gsr, and this guy we know did custom turbos for them. He has a whole bunch of stock eclipse turbos. they just had to get custom manifolds to make it work, and they still have stock internals. So far everything has worked without any problems, and they are running 7psi. I was wondering if My 2002 celi gts could handle something like that. And if it is safe to do so. I talked to some people and they said i could handle up to 10psi without any problems, but none of them have celi's and probably dont know anything about our compression ratio anyway. So anyone could help that would be great.

Your GTS can not handle 10psi with stock internals. I don't think you can boost more than 5psi, but I could be worng. The GT is more my speacialty. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong. But I know for a fact 10psi on stock internals is unreal.

Keep this in mind: doing custom work sometimes requires trial and error.

stock internals on a GTS must be replaced to handle high psi's, remember that the GTS engine has high compression

i agree... but to be on the safe side, i'd start out as low as 5, and work my way up while tuning the car and what not.

so would it be safe to run at turbo from an eclipse in my ride if i was only running 5psi?
