its in the early stages but here it is. its gonna be covered in black vinyl and made to meet all of the curves of the trunk. its for one 15" solo-baric L5, and the sub takes up almost half of the car actually. the amp will be mounted on the right side right next to the sub.

i made the box only 10" deep but three feet x two feet across. so the 15" should have plenty of air space... it came out to nearly 4 cubic feet. what do you all think?

edit: in these pics the holes weren't even drawn or the hole cut for the sub.

I don't know much about the sqaure solobarics, but i do know that the old solobarics only required a very little air space, .42 to .65 (Somewhere in the area), which was why i loved them. Are the new L5's and L7's the same, because if they are then that sub will not perform to it's potential in that big of a box unless you are going to section that box you built off to the required air space and are going to utilize the rest for your amps being fluch mounted and all your wiring being hid in that box as well. thumbsup

good start, however you should look into the space requirements for your sub as mentioned above...

the sub calls for 1.5-6 cubic feet, and the bigger the better is what i was told.

Wow, the old round Solobarics (i am talking about 12's though) worked and sounded better is a tiny box.

These squares seem to need more air space. I just looked at the specs and it says 1.5 - 6 cubic feet. So if you have a 4 cubic feet then yeah i guess you are alright.

subs usually come with a info sheet that lists box sizes and volumes for different types, sealed, ported, bandpass ... you should really consult that and make your box accordingly. Bigger is not always better when dealing with subs.

A sub may perform best at a small cu. ft.

The min air space for that sub is 1.5 cubic feet for sealed and 3.0 cubic feet for ported. The max air space is 6.0 cubic feet for sealed and the same for ported. So he is good on air space.

if it has too much air it wont perform as well... stick another peice of MDF in there and make the space smaller.
