I painted my engine cover gloss black, and it didn't look too well. It started "fish eyeing", little places where it didn't stick so well. Should I wait for it to dry and sand it and try it again?

I don't have to have a painting guide to paint it kind of a silly thing when I've helped paint a car before- . Hmmm...just really aggrevating that it didn't work so well. I used duplicolor paint and a wipe that comes with it. Says to wipe it down before you paint to remove oil and grease. I did it. It still looks bad.

It's okay-yeah this is a little different than a car-it's plastic! Yeah, I sanded it first. I'll figure it out. Thanks for trying though!

Try spraying further away, that is usually everyone's mistake, also, make sure you put a few clearcoats of paint on after, then it will shine and you will be like...
