I painted my engine cover gloss black, and it didn't look too well. It started "fish eyeing", little places where it didn't stick so well. Should I wait for it to dry and sand it and try it again?

I don't have to have a painting guide to paint it happywink
kind of a silly thing when I've helped paint a car before- wink. Hmmm...just really aggrevating that it didn't work so well. I used duplicolor paint and a wipe that comes with it. Says to wipe it down before you paint to remove oil and grease. I did it. It still looks bad.

ok..did you even sand the piece b4 you start wiping it??
even though you helped paint a car b4 but i think it's different then wat u're doing now..at first i htought it was easy but there's more to it then sanding and paint..
With a guide you can do it betta..i use the guide to paint my interior..turn out good..well maybe you should take ur time and go slow..i dunno..maybe someone can help you out futhermore..

It's okay-yeah this is a little different than a car-it's plastic! Yeah, I sanded it first. I'll figure it out. Thanks for trying though! thumbsup

Try spraying further away, that is usually everyone's mistake, also, make sure you put a few clearcoats of paint on after, then it will shine and you will be like... eek
