hey im looking at getting another boat, a canoe this time, and it weights 85 pounds (dry) and i might get a roof rack, if the celica can facilitate it, and if it can take the weight, and the drag forces created...
anyone seen a canoe carried on the celica? or seen heavy stuff carried on the roof, with or without a roof rack??
I would talk to the dealer or a rack manufacter before trying this. If the rack weight is resting on a panel only rather than a support beam you are going to bend the panel. Yakima has a good rep for helping consumers mounting racks on difficult vehicles... Good luck

dealer sells roof racks for the celica. max wieght i beleieve is 200 pnds. then again its being supported on the sides of the roof and not the actuall roof itself. ive seen a few celicas here in san diego hauling around two canoes on there roofs and a few bikes so its possible.
also to add ever seen a flipped over celica the roof can technically support its own weight
