Stock midpipe, no resonator

[Linked Image]

Custom piping with flanges that connect midpipe to TSRM canister. ("S" pipe smile )

[Linked Image]

Support Fixture to keep the canister from hitting the rear valence during hard cornering rolleyes.

"S" pipe to TSRM canister

Cost to have resonator removed was $30. Cost to have this "S" pipe made was $50. Cost of TSRM was $500.

The TSRM comes with a muffler about half the size of the stock muffler. It takes the place of the "S" pipe. This setup is very loud. Similar to the Kazuma noise level. It really helped out my top end and so far I noticed no low end torque loss. As soon as I get the chance, I'm going to go back to my street setup which is to unbolt this S pipe and bolt on the TSRM muffler.

Questions and Comments appreciated.

Looks good Steven. It would be cool if you got a video clip of it so we could hear what it sounds like. I still am thinking of doing this same setup, maybe for track only but who knows. Also, how big is your piping?

What about the gains? The whole band, mainly high end, etc?

I did this mod to improve my top end and strictly my top end. 1st gear climbs so fast I can't tell the difference. 2nd gear pulls nasty hard. 3rd gear is my secret weapon and 4th gear tops everything off very nicely. I could care less what happens on my low end.

Thats true. I think that I will get this done for my car and see what it does at the track. I got a question for you though Steven. You did all this talk about how our cars aren't for drag, so why are you doing this mod? This won't really help in autocross cause you need the mid range.

when I'm in autox, the only time I'm below 6K is when I'm launching. The rest of the time on the course, I'm pretty much in 2nd gear lift.

If you're going to have it at the 1/4 mile...just leave everything off...just have the cat and midpipe on. It will be loud enough to make people go deaf, but it would be even better than the setup you now have wouldn't it?
