i just got my c-one style hoodscoop back from the shop, and just got done putting it on, but now that i am thinking about it, should i have taken the bottom piece off of the stock one and mounted it onto this one? i looked at doing it but it didn't seem like it fit. is this going to matter, or should i take my new one off and put that piece back on? confused

If your talking about the little black peice then yes put it on the new one cause all sorts of crap could fly in.

Are you talking about the the metal frame inside the stock scoop. If so, I don't think it matters. I didn't put it on my VIS scoop, air still gets in.

I think most people with raised scoops leave this part out.

All kinds of crap flys in with it on. I've pulled leaves, feathers, and plenty of bugs out of there.

All that metal "shoot" does is direct the air tword the firewall to cool it. Look at the fire wall right behind your engine above the headers you will see the sister "shoot" that in turn spreads the air out over the firewall.

Again I would not sweat it, but thats me.

I've heard that you should put this piece back on with your aftermarket scoop (I did)... it's very simple to do however I'm sure if you leave it out nothing will go wrong
