hey i was wondering if anyone could give me recommendations for building a flat lying custom sub thing for my celica's trunk. i obviously have to get the dimentions for the wood, but how thick, how high from lets say the spare tire cover, and how do i finish it off to make it look nice? i want to make the wood predominatly red, being my car is red, but still want it to look nice and as professional as possible. thanks grin

And you are still able to take the spare tire out without removing the sub enclosure...
Here the instruction on how to do it...

Question:

Doesn't that box have to be sealed? wtf I see when it was folded out, there are gaps in the sides. Hope it hits good, i'm hoping to do the exact same with my JL 500/1 and 10W6v2 subwoofer (the 2nd I don't have, but I will rofl)

I need a better job! frown

BTW, the box looks sexy. thumbsup

Custom sub box [celica.net]

Finnaly I have done a different setup...

I had a 10 infinity sub with a aleready build box ...

I take some "coroplast" sheet (just like carton but it's plastic...) and recover them with carpet...

I'm almost finish... I'll post pics around the end of the week...

oh yeah i should mention that i wrapped the box in red vinyl (cost about $7) and that the box is 10" deep, 36" long, and 24" from front to back. basically i made the box wide instead of deep so that i could still give the 15 plenty of air space and keep it down lower into the car.

You could. The two subs on the ends and the amp in the middle. Problem is, where you going to put the speaker amp? confused. The box would be too small to take advantage of the subs power, so it wouldn't sound as good.

I was still wondering if the box was ported. You guys didn't answer my question. (see above post) I wish you could make it deeper and face the subs upward. You couldn't use the spare tire, though. cry

made that waaaaay too hard for yourself, take out that tray, that you will never use anyways.

i built my box for two 10's over the metal support hump (keeps everything from sliding at all) then mounted a fake wall behind it to mount that amp hidden between the back seats and the box.

Ill take pics and post tomorrow if i get a chance.
