Celica Forums General Discussion Exterior Wat type of rotors and pads should I get?

I need new brakes and I was wondering what everyone thinks is a good combo. I'm not looking just for looks , I want something that has good braking power. I have 17inch rims so bigger is better

If you really want to improve your braking, get a big brake kit up front and ssbl's all around. Since you have a GT, you might think about a rear-disc conversion however the front does 80% of the braking anyway so you'll have to weigh that choice yourself.

If you only want rotors and pads, you can try Brembo, Stoptech, and Rotora for larger rotors and I prefer TRD for my brake pads... but don't forget to upgrade to ssbl's regardless of which option you choose -

Axxis Ultimate, Hawk, EBC are all good brands for pads.

Rotora, Brembo, Powerslot, good brands for rotors.

Hopup racing has good prices for stock size slotted rotors, Tirerack has good prices on rotors and pads. SSBC is a great choice for a big brake upgrade.
