I got my '00 gts back in february with 56k on it, I took it by the toyota place for it's 60k service and asked them to check the lift bolts and belt tensioner as well. Well they called and said my belt tensioner was bad, my lift bolts were broken, and my MAF was bad. They said the belt tensioner would be about 350 to replace, the lift bolts about 600 to replace and the MAF about 250 to replace. I guess my question is, These prices seem rediculous to me, are they really about right? And can I do any of these fixes on my own? Thanks for any help given.

if the bolts are worn then it's ok...if the bolts are broken then i suggest you get it done under warranty...60K mile warranty! the tsb is in this website. show it to them!

WOW, do you guys in the US get 60,000 MILE warranty? In Canada we get 60,000 KM... which is WAY less than 60miles. We're getting ripped off up here I think. confused

holly molly, that sucks. I changed my lift bolts this weekend, it only took me 45 miniutes. Did you ask him how bad? Is half of the lift bolt sucked inside the rod? If not, you might be able to fix it. The lift bolts i got are only $.86 cents and it's really easy to do. Or you can take it to a local shop and have them drill it out. It's cheaper than the dealer for sure. Godd luck
