I have 3 and love it. 4 certainly does look sweet though. When I was looking for mine it was quite expensive and found a good deal on it for cheap on ebay. Like 350 when it's 500 retail. I looked for 4 and found it for 305 buy it now price from a power seller with very high positive feedback. I gave it a shot when I did my system and got good deals.
i have number 2 its awesome and it cant break because it dont have the flippy thing, my friend has number 3, and its also good, but it takes long to do all its stuff when the main point is to listen to music, 2 for all that great stuff
get the alpine it has the best sound. A lot of stereos are expensive for the wrong reasons...example: $499 sony decks with small flat tilt out displays that play clever movies to the music and change colors. Remember, you're buying the deck for looks secondly and sound firstly. The price should reflect the sound quality it gives out, but sometimes it just reflects the bells and whistles. Go with 2 is has the best sound out of the lot of em.
the expensive one..lol if not i'd choose # 3..or anyone that flips automatically..cuz sliding the face out is kinda old school.
or get 1 that duz both..like mine.. KDC MP919 i think...u can slide the face out or leave it to flip n look like you got no head unit. i love it..security is very important..not only you get ur stereo stolen but broken glasses n junk..who wants it.
3, panosonic spends too much $ on building those screens and not what your buying the stereo for(aka sound). Alpine doesn't seem to have enough options on that model so definately 3 imo.
I used to have the Pioneer DEH-P7400MP wich is basicly the same as nr. 3 without the flipdown panel, and now I have the DEH-P8600MP wich is basicly the same as nr. 4 without the flipdwon panel. The 8600 has a little bit better sound, it's much faster when skipping between mp3's, the browsing of mp3's is very good + the OEL display is also much much sweeter. I recomend to save up for nr. 4 (don't know the pricediff. where you live though...)
BTW: The Pioneer Remote Control for the wheel is a must... It rules...
