Well i just claybared my car, washed, and waxed my car today. Just had the oil changed, and topped off the gas as well today. I was at a red light on my way home after this exhausting day I hear a SCRRRREEEEEEEEEEEECH look in my rear view mirror and see a car soming at me BOOOOOOOOOM!. My head bounces off the seat and i am stunned for a minute. I get out and i was hit by some 18 year old. I look at my car and remarkable my TRD rear bumper doesnt have a crack on it and looks fine except when the Urethane bumper bent in it cracked the paint and now its flaking off. Her car was a honda accord and was totally smashed in the front. I was mostly worried about my TSRM but was fine. But my subs that i just recently got fixed are not working now. She hit me so hard that my radar detector that was on the window got ripped off and was in my backseat. I got the wheels rolling on insurance and her company is gonna have to pay for it all considering i was hit from behind when i was completly stopped. But i was really surprised how well the Celica held up. All it really needs is a lil body filler and paint and it will be good as new.

Better check the car thoroughly. My first car crash was similar to yours. I was hit on the side. (Dumb ass made a left turn from the middle lane cutting me off. I was in the left lane.) I was reimbursed for all my loss from the other driver's issurance.

My car did not appear to endure much damage. Given the fact that my car is a minivan and the other is only a passager car I did not give much attention to it and left it to the hand of the mechanic. My bumper was fixed and repaint and head light replaced. Charged for $1600.

However, it turns out that the car mechanic (who my issurance agency hook me up with) did a shity job. From time to time I felt my car bouncing a lot when cornering. The source of this is a part of my suspension and struts was broken. My own mechanic discovered this when I took it in for oil change. He said anyone would have spot it when the car is lifted and he said the damage must be from an impact from the right side (I did not tell him I was in an accident). He showed it to me and it was so apparent even I can tell. It cost me 600 parts and labor to fix it. I have to pay for it out of my pocket.

My advise to you, find a good mechanic check you car on everything: suspension, steering, alignment and even dyno it and push it hard to make sure everything works as before. Good luck.
