Alright where do i begin,
Tuesday may 25th i bought my first band knew Celica. My boss drives a 97 supra twin Turbo. ok I want to know the steps close to 10 second. Right now i have a cool air Intake system on it. But do i get Turbo then headers or how do i go about getting it that damn fast?

Can anyone help me out?

sell your car and buy a wrx, evo or supra, and then build that up, the celica would cost way to much in a build up to ever catch a 10 second supra!

Turbo is the only way to get a 7th gen celica relatively close to 10 seconds (by relative im talking maybe 11's). See, your faced with a really tough situation, FWD. You can have a celica that has 220 WHP running 12s along side a celica that has 400+ whp. The main reason for that is traction. Goin non-turbo is the best way to control traction, as the power doesn't hit all at once like Turbo. However, it is the more expensive route to get that power. For the sake of explanation I'll do both:

Turbo.

First step when building a nice power motor for Turbo is deciding how much PSI you want to run. This will determine the extent (and cost) your mods will run. For high boost I suggest picking up some reinforced rods and lower compression pistons (8.8:1) for the block. While your down there sleeve the cylinders. Now lets move up to the head. stronger valves, springs, retainers and a nice port polish are a must. Upgrade the injectors, fuel pump, oil pump and oil pan. To manage the fuel a PowerFC would be the best option. In fact an oil cooler wouldnt be a bad idea either. The transmission is gonna need stronger internals as well. I have heard many things about people's 6 spd trannies not being able to take the torque. Clutch and a chromoly flywheel should be installed as well. Depending on the PSI your gonna be running would I recommend an LSD.

N/A.

The long fun road to N/A power. Im not really gonna go into too much depth here as there are too many physics of the engine to explain. Stroke the engine. Main focus here would be improve the low-mid range power while cause lift to scream. Cold air Intake, straight pipe exhaust, header, clutch, flywheel, lsd, valve springs, powerfc, ceramic coat your Intake, Intake manifold, header, and full exhaust. Throw on a hondata heatshield gasket. Set the rev limit to a reasonable level (based on how you stroke the block). run higher compression pistons and play with the timing (powerfc allows this). Port and polish the head and Intake runners. custom cams will be a must

For both of these. your gonna need to upgrade the suspension to handle the increase in power safely and allow a better transmission of power to wheels. Also sticky tires and wider rims are a must as traction will be ur biggest opponent.

also, your gonna have to do some minor wink weight reduction

Lastly, you can have a 400 whp car and still run 14's if you dont know how to drive. So learn to drive the beast you build and then you will see nice times.

TPR Intake! - Injens high end with AEM's low end and NO BOGGING!
TPR EXHAUST! - Exhaust made 10.5 whp peak and 32 whp at 6300 on my car!!!

10 sec you have seen way to much f n f

to reach 10 sec you would have to make it a dedicated drag car and gut everything and it would not longer be street legal nor would you want to drive on the street

You guys need to do more research on a car before you buy it. The Celica is not designed to have a ton of power, hence why it has a light weight aluminum engine & chasi. The Celica is designed to handle like there's no tomorrow, thus why you see Celicas in auto-x kicking ass.

Yeah, in the money that your going to spend to make it run 10's you might as well have bought the Evo... If you bought a celica going for 10's you obviously didn't research the car to much. plus you got the GT when your going for speed. should have gone with the highest model car if you really wanted to go fast. you can raise boost higher on the GT if you Turbo charge it but then you gotta think. Evo? Personally i bought a celica because i drove a 96 eagle talon that DIED all the time. i wanted number 1= reliability 2= looks 3= speed. in that order i believe i found the best car for my money at the time. if i was shooting for speed being number 1 then i would not have gotten the celica plain and simple. love the car to death and i beat all those ricers in civics but i know damn well i can't compete with a twin Turbo supra...

Nope. Not going to happen with a 2ZZ or 3SGTE either. As my friend Mike put it:

"1/4 mile in the 10s?

.. What?

Do you understand how fast a 10-second quarter mile is? It's mind-numbingly, face-smashingly, gut-bustingly, and most importantly, pants-pissingly fast. It's the kind of shit that makes you beg for the driver to stop while sobbing, "NO DUDE I'M FUCKING SERIOUS, STOP" when he hits the throttle without telling you. A 10-second car is not safe in the hands of the general (even very wealthy) public."

Your car will never see a 10 second time slip. Sorry, but that's how it is. Even if you could get enough power, you'd never have the traction.

Agreed.

I think our cars would blow up if they ever went that fast.

10's wont happen on a production model 00-05 celica.

we have a team mate gunning for mid-low 12's @ 400 or so whp
and thats no way going to be streetable.

just not gonna happen in the 00-05 celica.

shouldda bought a 5th generation all-trac Turbo or imported a RHD 6th gen all-trac Turbo, theres 1-2 guys in the 10s on those and have a boat load of moolah on them.
