Washed the car this morning and decided to blow dry it. Went down some country roads and hit a nice one with about a 3/4 mile straight, downhill for 1/3 then flat then ends on a hill with a curve at the end. What a blast! You really have to keep an eye on the tach. The engine doesn't sound like its even begining to strain at 8 grand. Ended up at about a 102 and topped the hill and downshifted to 3rd for the curve. Just a great handeling car going through the curves. I had so much fun I had to go down another couple of country roads, hitting maybe 70 st the max. What a load of fun!! Next time I'll have the revs up before I hit the straight...PS I live in a rural county and at 0900 on Sunday there isn't much traffic. Just folks going to church.

definately awesome handling..
i can't stress how much better it felt than my stock wrx...
i would take turns like nothing in my celica but i hesitate in my wrx cause it just doesn't feel the same...feels too high and the stock tires can't grip for shit.

Yep, I would highly advise getting one ASAP. Its not as practical as a pick-up, but the fun factor is awesome for a stock vehicle. I would try to pick up a used GTS if cash is tight. VSGTS, your Rex would probably take me on the straight, but it sure would be fun...

Thanks, Chiller. I love it. I had a 86 ST that I drove for 16 years before it gave up the ghost. The 8th gen GTS is awesome in comparison. It is everything I wanted my first Celica to be. I special ordered a new GTS last December in black, my wife didn't like red. The special oreder fell apart because my dumbass salesman didn't know how to order it. After 3 months I got pissed off and talked with the sales manager. He agreed I had been screwed and made up for it with a sweet deal on my new Celica. Red was all they had, and I think it looks much better than black. My wife loves it too, but she has a bet going as to when I get my first ticket. Hopefully I'll win it...
