so i was thinking since my exhaust is OBNOXIOUSLY loud. what if i were to buy a second kazuma and split it to dual exhaust and then run 2 kazuma mufflers on the back? do you think that would make it a bit more quiet or should i just replace the exhaust? can't complain with the sound when i hit lift but its to loud before that. but omg its seksy in lift when its screaming. thats why i thought maybe dual exhaust would help if i split it correctly to force 50% into each pipe. i have a radical design in my head and i would do it myself cept for the welding. any engineers or mechanics fill me in on if they think it would quiet it down or do nothing or even make it louder eek

would annihilate your low end, and you'd bog all the way up to lift...dual kazumas would let even more flow out, so it might be louder (not sure), and if you want it quiter, and are stuck on the whole kazuma thing, then get a small magnaflow resonator...it will help (but not a whole ton)

You could route that thing around your car 4 times and have it come out at the front and it would still be loud.

Only really good way to decrease the noise would be to add a resonator.

hehe, bought it off the internet from someone for $250 when i knew NOTHING about it except it was a 500 dollar exhaust for 250 shipped and it produced most hp gains of any other exhaust. after i bought it i go "shit thats why he sold it so cheap". i didn't even know it cut out the cat until it arrived at my house and i saw how long it was. this was my first install and i had my celica all of a month and didn't even know about ecelica. i was on some crappy site about celica's that you were lucky to get a reply to your post in a week. don't have the money to do anything about it yet so im looking for cheaper solutions in mean time. VS is taking up all my aftermarket build time as of now and my $$ flow will be directed to painting. and before i fix exhaust i need Intake and lowering springs then exhaust and then rims and then lighting will complete the exterior of the car. hopefully extererior will be done by next winter.

no it connects directly to your cat replacing your stock resonator.

It only replaces the resonator because the kazuma doesn't have one.

And you aren't supposed to cut out your cat, you are supposed to weld it on after your cat. Your car won't pass emissions now.

only way to quiet it down is to install a resonator, which will make it like any other exhaust on the market.

nope, i just had a resonator installed today...takes away just a little bit of sound..still "obnoxiously loud" =T gotta love the power though..hehe i'm just gonna enjoy it for now. but it won't be permanent on my car.

yes...i got a resonator on it..did almost nothing maybe a canister would do..BUT that would be like a normal exhaust system instead..friggin kazumas..yall see their "muffle" part? just a straight through..hahaha it reminds me of the unbolted sound.

yeah don't make me take pics of my exhaust... its a str8 pipe with a baffle sytem on the back basically. the exhaust it not meant to quiet anything. its made to creat HP like KAZUMA says on the TRD site. they don't care about laws or sound or anything...just HP. granted it does alot, but the system is a str8 pipe from the cat back to the exhaust then the tip. the so called "muffler" is like half an inch wider than the rest of the pipe. this the the part i believe is just baffles and not meant for really making it quiet.

if you're going after the exhaust system with the most gains then my mess with it when it's too loud, there are always trade offs. like it says "only for off road use" dont get it for the gains then turn around and get a resonator to quiet the thing it will decrease it's Performance, the noise come with the power. I'm not trying to sound like a jerk just stating the truth to help. the straightest possible pipe = more power, the resonator will create turbulance and back pressure, causing the stiaght pipe to be less effective. Do what i did switch off between exhausts.

I don't think most people doesn't know what kazuma whole piping looks like..
I do have a picture at home that shows the whole piece...

I'll also try to take a picture of my exhaust pipe that has been cut out after the header(after divider)...
Show where it acutally welds up and while still keeps the stock CAT and gets rid of the resonator...
Since I have whole new piping 2.5" with high flow cat no resonator and veilside exhaust...

resonator & a canister are basically same thing to actually make it quitte you need a muffler hence the name

FINALLY, i took kim's advice n made my kazuma a bolt-on at a muffler shop nearby my home. still using kazuma's midpipe w/ my old magnaflow resonator..it wasn't aligned perfectly to switch to bolt-on w/ the flanges, so they had to add some extra inches of piping..and connected the kazuma pipe to a flange. price wasn't that bad, so i'm pretty much satisfied now.
