i just got 80 sq feet of this stuff in the mail. i have no idea how to apply it or how it compares to the real stuff (i.e. dynamat). anyone have experience with this. how hard is it to apply and will it stick well?

i dunno, i was just gonna buy a package of bulk dynamat extreme also, and was wondering how exactly you apply it. i think with the dynamat it has like a peel away sticky back and you just use a roller or something to apply it to the metal of your frame. not real sure how to take off the plastic pieces to get to the frame, but i would assume they are pop tabs?

Yea dynamat you just cut with a knife peel the backing and stick. Its really easy. Even cutting it isnt diffucult i did it with just a pocket knife. You can apply with just your hands you dont need a roller. MAKE SURE YOU WEAR GLOVES. I got this advice before i did mine and i was like "oh what retard is gonna cut themselves" well halfway throught the install i looked down and my hands were dripping blood from 100's of little paper cuts. Its real simple. I will tell you straight up it wont stop all your rattles but it makes it MUCH louder!

Dont forget to clean the metal that the mat will be applied to or the mat will fall off in the future.

i didn't have any trouble at all pulling them out or applying the fatmat. but let me tell you, that stuff goes on thicker than it looks, and i haven't been able to get the panels back on. the holes won't line up and you can't get them back into place. i finally just gave up for the night. it got dark. frown
