Celica Forums General Discussion Exterior how to install pioneer speakers...on my GTS... huge problem...s0s

hi...ok i have 2 five way and 2 four ways pioneers and an amp..how do i replace trhe stock speaker and put the aftermakket..should i use the stock amp???or shoud i cut some wires from the door...i tried passing the cable through the door to the radio but its hard. how can i do this...?????????

Installing any kind of aftermarket setup in a GTS is a hassle. The links below may be able to help you out and try searching the forums because there is a lot of information out there. When I got my Celi the first thing I did was strip all the panels and replace the entire stereo system with my own aftermarket. The 2 hardest parts are: (1) Removing the stock speaker mounts and (2) bypassing the factory amp for an aftermarket head unit. If you are only replacing the speakers and not the radio/headunit than you won't have to worry about number 2. The only way to get the factory speakers out are to drill them out or rip them out. I would suggest drilling since this way you can use the stock mounts for the new speakers. Do you have experience doing stereo installations? I've done quite a few so I'm pretty good at it. If you don't have experience just take it to a stereo shop and let them do it for $25.
