The box for my alarm says it can be bypassed and reset by pressing the valet button. It hasn't worked since the day I got the car and it randomly goes off when I start the car. Its really annoying and embarassing. Can anyone help me out?

If it's a DEI alarm viper, python, sidewinder, hornet etc press button 1 then 2 then 1 again with the door open. The lED will go solid then. If it's a newer DEI alarm with the lock and unlock symbols try lock, unlock, lock with the door open.

If it's another brand pm me and I'll get back to you. I worked as a 12 volt audio/alarm/convenience installer from 96-00 before finishing school and moving into composites and Fiberglass prototyping.

We also have a retail store that does car audio/alarms/remote starts etc so I have access to pretty much any info I need.

Hey Krazy, what kind of alarm would you recommend? I'm in the process of getting one because i just got a new sound system set up. I really want one with the best security and nice looking remote...

that will put it into valet mode meaning the alarm won't arm and your remotes will act as a keyless entry.

DEI makes great alarms and your problem is most likely an installation issue. We sell AST alarms that are also a very affordable alarm and very good quality.
