I was coming home from a gas station at about 11 pm when I hit a bend in the road going about 70...
I had to hit the brakes because I was going too fast...
My car's back end came out and I did a 180 and hit a curb backwards.
As soon as my car came to a stop I saw red and blue lights and a cop pulled up right behind me.
He sat me down on the curb and another cop came. I had just bought a 32 oz of beer and it was unopened in the passenger seat.
I thought I was going to go to jail or something..
I am not injured... As car as my poor car... My skunk2 exhaust is scraped up on the bottom and the tip has about a 1 inch dent in the edge...
I think my alignment is fuked up now too..
The cop gave me a ticket for going 60 in a 35 which is an exhibition of speed.
It was awfully stupid of me to be speeding. I got a court date I have to go to...
why did this have to happen...

I was given a soberity test.
The cops that showed up were very forgiving.

Guys, you got to drive safe. I knew I shouldn't have been speeding but I did anyways and I now have to pay the consequences...

i asked the cop and he didn't say how much I had to pay... It will probably end up being 100-300 dollars.

i know how you feel...not a good feeling

word of advice...it will be well worth it to get an expencive lawyer, and get off the ticket. you will definately get chanrges dropp'd, because the cop didnt radar you, or pace you. he just guess'd 60mph.

glad your OK, sorry about what happend.

I told the officer I was going around sixty coz there would be no way in hell that I could have spun out like that going any slower.

My tires were really cold. I had just got a free carwash at a touchless drivethru car wash thing.

I hope that teaches you. You're lucky those cops were nice, most aren't. Get yourself a good lawyer. You'll be getting lots of letters soon from them. You woln't have to go to court yourself and may be able to keep your licesnse. Please note they could have taken you to jail on the spot for going that fast.

bad thing to do...thats the one thing that could get you convicted. if you didnt say that then your lawyer would be able to get you off everything easily

Good thing you're alright. Here's some advice, NEVER slam on your brakes on a curve or bend as you called it. Just let go of the gas OR just don't speed. cool

Damn man, never thought you'd be one of the ones to lose control just driving around. Sucks, but at least you didn't tear anything out of your car, could've been worse. Be easy on the streets for a while until you get back on the track. Glad to hear you're ok though. thumbsup

That sucks.

Y'know, I learned that in CO, the state patrol can pull you over on a "exhibition of speed" charge for as little as wheel spin. This I learned in the class they offer as a way to get off tickets.

Glad your alright and no one was hurt. Everyone screws up. Don't worry too much about the car or ticket. Sounds like nothing too serious. The same thing happened to me a while ago. I was going 100+ mph and had to get on my brakes around a turn. The same thing happened about the back breaking lose. I just powerslided around a couple of turns and barely slowed down before I rear ended slower traffic (easier said than done). I scared the s**t out of myself. Good thing I have been in that situation many times before or I would have been in a lot of trouble seriously (no curbs to hit only trees). Steven, you should know speeding on public roads is just an accident waiting to happen. No real harm done. Good luck with everything.

Exhibition of Acceleration ticket ran me $150 and 6 months probation.

I got it for a baby wheel spin.

On New Year's Eve this year I was doing 90 in a 40 or 50 zone (can't remember which it was, I was late for the party) and had to slam my brakes comming around a curve, I made it around the curve, spinned a 180, much like you did, and somehow didn't hit anything. Only my back tire was off the road but it landed safely on a grass area, didnt even go up a curb. I got no damage, a bit of tire tread removed, and a night full of luck with me. Either way, it was a crazy spin out, and hell, a crazy night.

Glad you are ok Steven.

Let this be a lesson about not speeding and driving like this.

I had to learn my lesson in a truck, $8200 later and it just finally got off my record

glad to hear you are okay bro...I spun out about a month back because someone ran me off the road at about 70mph...I was glad I bought a celi after that cause I didn't FLIP!!!!!...I had the same reality tho...could have been a lot worse...that's why I keep a sticky on my dash that simply says SLOW DOWN!!!!
