Hi!

I would really appriciate if you have some input on these exhausts that I'm looking to get. Torn between the TRD, Tanabe Super Medalion Racing and Tanabe Ultra Medalion. How loud are the Tanabe's?

the only difference between the TURM and the TSRM, is that the ultra is lighter in weight...there aren't any signifcant gain differences...the sound is pretty basic thumbsup

trd i have heard has a nice low sound to it...and many people tend to like them...so out of you choices get the trd... wave

hope this helps thumbsup

My TRD is being installed as we speak... the TSRM and TURM are slightly louder if that's what you're after, while TRD has a slight Performance lead. Get the ultra if money is not a factor, otherwise - TRD

(that thread pretty much says it all... nice low rumble in the low rpms but gets respectably louder as you go up - overall I'm very satisfied)

TSRM & TUM don't come close to sounding the same.

TUM is quieter, half the weight, has a deeper tone, and is $200 more expensive. Not to mention its rarer. Also, the TSRM get's pretty loud when you're on the highway, so it's get annoying. While the TUM is perfect for the highway. It's nice & quiet & it only lets you know that you have an exhaust when you floor it.

I wasn't talking about you Sultan grin

The TUM has the same gains as the TSRM 'cuz they share the same design. The only difference is sound & weight.

personally i think that trd has best gains but only slightly over tum and tsrm, tum has best weight reduction and sound, and tsrm has best sound and looks. but again, thats my personal preference.

remus is a well known and respected german mfr mostly known for euro cars like vdubs, audis, peugeot, and sportbikes... they have a nice looking Turbo version for the celi (and even a silencer; their stance is a quieter exhaust). don't know how it performs though...

I have it!
It looks nice and makes a nice sound, but too quiet,definitely... In Italy many have it because it's legal...
You can see it in my profile.

Greddy is one of the top brands in aftermarket parts and is really good quality. The Evo2 gives decent gains, but the only reason I don't like it is because it's too quiet.

Look, this is off of the Rod Millen site..

"RMM's New Celica GTS Stainless Steel Exhaust System is the best sounding exhaust we have ever heard on a car in this class. Not only does RMM's exhaust sound great, it increases horsepower too! Install RMM's Sport Intake System with their Stainless Steel Exhaust System for an instant 15+ horsepower boost and a puuuurrrfect sound! RMM's Stainless Steel Exhaust Sytem is a perfect fit on the GT and GTS models. If a body kit is installed, the exhaust can be easily modified so that it is flush with the rear valence of the kit."

I don't know, but it says it fits a GT. So if you still feel uncomfortable about it I would contact Rod Millen by e-mail or phone and ask.

Apex'i N1 is $415 at the place listed below.

Also this place has the Tanabe Super Racing Medallion for $511, which is the second best exhaust for the Celica.

Invidia is really good too.
