Since my thread got locked (which is rather coincidental with ecelica selling injens...) Ill answer the questions that were posted by people who werent too busy calling me a pussy and yadda yadda yadda.

Yes there is international shipping

No its not CARB approved (it costs too much for that sticker which basically is just a get out of ticket free thing) however ive already received 4 orders from cali so i dont think people are minding THAT much.

any other questions ill be happy to answer thru here (before they come on and lock it again) or PM. thanx smile

The placement of the MAF is wrong, and $10 says you are going to get a CEL from that.

Not even AEM/Injen have the placement right, only the hybrid ebay/stock airbox CAI can get around that.

for $25 more, you could have a name brand piece, not something from a start up place.

lol 7000 miles tested...no CEL and the reason is this Intake is the only one with MAF fins. it simulates stock air flow thru use of fins inside the piping. i dont think it will matter if the company is start up or not, dynos speak for themselves.

You should just learn that some people rather have a respected brand wich they can count on and feel safe with then a no-brand product with no descent warranty or info with a little bit higher dyno
EDIT: ass isaac said: if your product is good and people like it it will sell itself

you shouldn't need an agressive advertising campaign like this

lol the company is real so shouldnt it considered a brand. Ive driven all three Intakes, AEM had nice low end and so so high end, injen had crappy low end and nice high end. and how can you feel safe with a CEL popping up on those. I understand people would rather have a "brand" name, but i would rather have a better quality product with less hassle/head ache.

im not trying an aggressive advertising, it dont matter to me if anyone here buys or not. Im just trying to educate people that AEM and Injen are not the end all be all of the Intake market and you shouldnt have to sacrifice either low or high end. I guess its because i dont post here much that i get much respect and thus i gotta work a lil harder for people to trust what i say, but its all good, check the other celica boards if you want testimonials. altho i had one in my last thread

Well people get a head ache of someone so desperately wanting to sell.. by trying to sell this way you're gonna do more harm then good since you will only lose credability since you're wanting it to bad.. if someone says no you should just leave it at that.. never had Injen or AEM trying to convince me that they were AWESOME.. and if they did they would have gotten of my back if I said no.. you're marketing just sux.. your product may be great but just get a descent website to promote it were you punt all the info and just inform people of the website so they can look for them selves.. believe me that works 10 times beter.. I think I've said enough and gonna let you just do your thing.. GL

amazingly its only this board that feels this way. well, ill leave it be and answer questions as they come by. but if anyone criticizes, be well prepared to read a post addressing them and their critiques appropriately. thanx

to answer more general questions i have been pmed with

price is 150 + shipping
blue anodized, red anodized, chrome, aluminum and metallic black colors

custom colors are 10$ extra

all Intakes come ceramic coated to greatly reduce heat soak.

smile

If I didn't already have an Intake I would be all over this. It looks good all around. And the price is reasonable. Easy_C I heard you might be making bushings for the shifter housing or shifter cable. Any idea on those?

Keep me up to date on those bushings. I'll take some when you finish testing them, but if you need a test car I'll be glad to help out.

you can say whatever you want - but when you look for advertising help from one place and then talk shit about them - do you really think that place is going to continue to help you... YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING YOURSELF thumbsdown

I'm just curious and I'm not trying to start anything, but don't the factory "fins" that you're talking about restrict air flow and therefore make the reason to have an Intake void? Just a question, I'm not really that smart about this stuff...anyone know?

the fins are before the MAF. they are more used to direct airflow into the MAF in a format that the stock ecu is adjusted for. they dont restrict airflow enough to hinder Performance.

I know what the fins are used for, which is why I asked if you put them in front or behind of the maf.

Putting them after the maf would make them pretty much useless. spineyes

okay--well, the Intake seems credible to me-I'd like to try it-my injen Intake has some bad scratch and dig ins from the hose clamps vibrating. I need another Intake before this one gets a hole in it. It was my fault, I just didn't check the thing. But, Easy C, you'll be in my thoughts when I plan on getting one-what's your email?

No, they won't restrict flow. The stock airbox has them too. The MAFS is tuned for a 2.5" pipe with these fins, so anything else will reduce its accuracy.

They're placed before the MAFS to help direct airflow through the MAFS.

For anyone else with tech questions about the MAFS fins and the TPR Intakes in general, check out this post:
https://celicahobby.com/ubbthreads/thread.f_1870014158_0_collapsed_5__1.html#1870014158

It explains how everything works, and why the TPR Intakes WILL NOT cause bogging or a lean CEL. Ever.

Try my Perfect CAI stock airbox mod first. It's the same concept as the TRP Intakes, and will show you how the TPR CAI works (no bogging or lean CEL). It's also a free to do DIY mod. smile The TPR will perform better, though, since its piping is totally smooth. Email me for info on my mod (spectracelica@ieathondas.com), since I can't link to the install on a certain site, for some unknown reason. wink

Isn't this sorta like the hybrid ebay/stock airbox thing that Blue Bomber posted on the other celica site? confused

kinda. it uses the same concept as bombers, but with better airflow characteristics. thats how i was able to attain aem like low end with injen high end. i believe the fins also attribute to that massive jump at lift. ill have to buy an ebay Intake and do the blue bomber mod again and have it dynoed to see if it also has that wonderful lift engagement.

how fun to catch up on internet political drama.

easy c, good luck with your new product and in the long run (with more user opinions on the cai) we can truly see if it lives up to your claims.

still, directly offending board members and their site is a definite no-no. it's not good business practice.

remember, we're ALL part of the celi community and we DO frequent other sites. so it's best to keep opinions to yourself when it comes to business dealings. thumbsup
