can you pull the speedo needle out slightly? is there any resistance if you use your finger and try to move it though its range?

its not getting caught on the overlays at all...and the tach works, and the whole cluster is getting power, which is why I'm wondering about this...does anyone have a link to the article about re-calibrating the speedometer that Isaac wrote?...maybe that will help...also, I checked the pins in the harnesses in the back and I didn't bend anything...so that's out

I was really gentle and made sure not to pressure anything...I' pretty sure I didn't braek my speedometer sensor...I just unplugged the cluster and checked it out and plugged it back in, and both of the needles jumped and settled back to zero when I set the cluster back in...hmmmmm...thanks for all the ideas.(god, I love this site)...but more help is needed...

ok try this, unplug your cluster. Now open your hood, turn your engine on. There is a plug that is capped somewhere aound you battery i think...i forget it's exact location, plug it in there, have someone hold it and turn on the car. Rev it a coupla times, the needles should move. Now put it back in. Does this work??
