cutting ur springs

i was telling my friend how if you cut your springs your car will bounce really hard up and down withe the slightest bump. and then i got flamed by a bunch of kids who wre like. blah blah blah cutting ur spring will only lower ur car and make the ride bumpier and there's no point doing it. i thought cutting your springs make you bounce really hard up and down. am i right or wrong?

PS: if i'm right i'm gonna print out this thread and rub it in their face.

VERY BAD IDEA. I agree it will mess up you alignment and your ride will be aweful. Plus most of the time people do it wrong and it looks bad.

The purpose of a spring is to exert tension on your shocks.

The shocks absorb the impact, and the springs force the shocks to stay extended, rather than compressed.

Cutting the stock spring will only reduce the amount of force exerted on the shock to keep it extended, thus making the car go boing boing boing because there isn't enough force to keep the shock extended.

you also run the risk of the spring buckling and the strut shooting through your Hood or rears. really messy and too expensive to mention (imagine your whole car slamming to the ground while in motion)
