Does the measurement of the wall also include the part behind the lip? I tried measuring tires so i cant get a good idea of which size i want when i get new rims. i tried it on my stock GT tires and they are 195/60/15 so side wall should be 117mm but it was more around 100 on the measuring tape, thats almost 2cm difference...
If you go with 17" rims, 215 40 R17 will be really close to the stock size so your spedo won't be out. I think if you are doing 60mph on the spedo, your actual speed will be 58.6mph. Better to be a bit under than a bit over.
