i just got an aftermarket battery to power my new system and the battery is too short to reach the battery tie posts and securely fasten it down. for those of you who have aftermarket batteries how di you solve this problem. any help would be great!

return the battery and get one that fits...like an optima or something thumbsup

optima is also too short.

you'll need to make the tray a little taller. there should be a white tray under the battery that notches into place.

glue,, tape, velcro something into that tray to raise the level up!

this is what i suggested to him as well (obvioiusly not in this thread though).

jeff was wondering if there was anything that other people have already used to fix this problem..like a definite example of something that worked. thumbsup

actually, I have the Optima yellow installed and modified it a bit to fit...

- first I sheared one end of the white tray underneath the battery so that it would sit evenly
- next, I simply used washers on the posts to enable perfect fitment
