power gains on injen short ram?
wasup ppl...im thinking about getting an Injen Short Ram because it is so much easier to install Short Ram then CAI's.i dont wanna cut the bottom trim to put a CAI in.dat'll void ma warranty.so my questions is wats da HP gain on da Short Ram compare to CAI.is it worth it for me to go ahead n buy da Short Ram?how bout da rumors about short rams getting cracked because its too close to da engine.n also anyone know wat da best price is for Injen Short Ram? thx ppl n plz help me out.

Horsepower...a few horsepower. It is like 1-2 hp less than a normal CAI. If you install it right, then you shouldnt have problems with it cracking.

^^ keep in mind that this data is from a TUNED Injen SRI..you will NOT get these numbers by just bolting the Intake on like most tuners do.

rather, this shows its potential.

Is there anyway to install a CAI without cutting the bottom trim?

your not going to see HUGE gains with an Intake, thats why i went with the Injen SRI and its awesome (despite my cel p0171) CEL that comes on. Sounds pretty focken mean too. grin

please do not take this the wrong way because i am not flaming you at all, but:

1. people would KILL to get 7-8 whp from an Intake...thats almost too good to be true.

2. your only gonna get like 3-4 whp from a name-brand CAI, and you will get even less with an Injen shortram.

3. as i said, the dyno i posted was from a TUNED ecu...unless you plan on reprogramming, you will NOT see those numbers. they will be cut in half at the most, and even less than half on average
