Whats the best Celica for $2,500? I just sold my 99 Daewoo lanos because since the begining I have wanted a Celica, Where would the best place be to buy one in Chicago with the budget I have?

Take $2000 and put it down on your car, use the other $500 towards your first payment and insurance smile

Yeah, there is NO way to get a Celica for $2500. That'd be a good downpayment... that's about it.

I got my celica for 3,800.

It was wrecked, so I had to rebuild it. If you wanted to fix it up, this is the best way to go-instead of paying thousands of dollars to take off factory parts, if they're already broken on a wreck, you can order the aftermarket. It's not under warranty, but I'd rather do stuff to my own vehicle anyway. thumbsup

*I also had to get an 8,000 loan from bank to rebuild cry.

In the long run, yeah-kinda sucks, but the celica itself was only the 3,800.

It was fun to rebuild though-only if you enjoy that kinda thing and don't care to take your time with it.

hehe tongue. That's the shop I work at sometimes. We're rebuilding a 2002 Celica GT. The front half is black and the back half is red.

The red celica sucked-hadn't been taken care of, but the black one--OMG. Someone had a heck of a security system put on it-we couldn't get it to start lastnight, but they took it back apart (after it had been welded and painted AND put back together!) and cut all the wires. Someone had put some money in the car-had 18" Motegi MR8 rims and Falken Tires with TRD sport package-Areospeed coilovers and a catback exaust on it. But, they wrecked it and we got it. I'll take some pics of the finished product and post it. The Celi looks great now.

2,500 is not even a "good" down payment.

I downed 5000 on my car and am still paying 380 a month for 5 years because I am a first time buyer with no "real" credit, so my interest was like 13%.

CRAP! cry

I'd invest it in the stock market. Honestly, if I had 2500 dollars in one pot to blow. I'd seriously be upset w/myself if i blew it all on my car. I'd like for it to grow!!!

Thanks scoof, and yes, I agree with the stock market thing too. You could make more money for it, and I did notice about the 5th gen. thing too. Surely you could get a good celica alltrack for that, at least a downpayment-good luck with it! thumbsup
