the two lift bolts are taken from an 03' GTS. the owner implies that he hits lift ALL the time. the mileage when he changed the factory bolts are 28K miles...so anyone whohas the new lift bolts you can be good for at least 28K...but be sure to inspect them every 9-10 months just in case thumbsup

having to check a bolt in the engine under the valve cover this often is a HUGE problem.

lucky broke his new style bolts in less than 7K and he "hits lift daily"

so you should check every other oil change.

doesn't mike have an 00-01? maybe it was because it was the older lift bolts that he originally had...or maybe mike spends way too much time in lift lol. rofl

but yeah,. like i stated before it should be checked before 28K..lol. i think once every 3 oil changes for me around 6-7 months. i hardly hit lift...maybe 1-2 times a week...

^^^^that's what i thought too..i'm like, this guys is a dumbass..don't know shit if it hit him on the face..i'm never going back there again, unless the engine broke down or blown up like Pink_panther..i'm still under powertrain warranty for this entire year or 30k..so if something on the engine is going to die it betta die now..but after i changed the lift bolt, it went into lift very smoothly..love it. thumbsup

ok, i know of the problem with the lift bolts, i hear as stated in this topic it takes 20mins to change and to check you just need to remove bolts in the engine under the valve cover, however i have never seen a write up on how to do it on this page. i searched and searched, i have a 00 gts and the lift bolts were never replaced, a guy in his 40's owned it and said he never redlined the car and it hit's lift strong for me, but i want to check them and change them, it has 46,500 miles on it so as far as i know the warranty won't cover it, i would like to do it myself, does anyone know the procedure of checking and replacing? and how many lift bolts are there? thanks a lot, sorry i don't know all this stuff i only had the car for a month...thanks! -don confused

wth are there 3 bolts in taht pic???

and I had the new style bolts break after 6500 miles wink but my car would fall under the "extreme conditions" category. lol rofl

they really arent hard to change at all. it can be done in 10 - 15 mins if the engine is cool.

if it has broke and the shaft has not rotated then they are still easy to remove. if the shaft rotates its a pain in the a$$.
