just disconnect the negative terminal on your battery. Wait about 10 minutes, then reconnect it. That's all you have to do.

Hmm. Ok. then since I changed my battery and the wire was disconnected, then I already reseted my ECU.
Thanks

you can either dis the neg. terminal, or remove a fuse, and it'll reset the ecu.

nothing really but if you have a bunch of red line shifts and take it to toyota with that are your ECU they will give you a harder time gettting stuff covered under warranty.

yup. one service call I made the tech asked me if I had fun doing that burnout cause there were all kinds of codes that can only indicate a burnout. Idiot. I have NEVER done a burnout in my car. Said that the front tires had turned a lot more than the rear, odd. Seeing as how it was winter and it is a front wheel drive car! duh. of course the front wheels turn more than the rear tires. spineyes

^^ or it could just mean you drive in circles a lot spineyes rofl

but anyway, resetting the ecu just resets everything. when i change my own oil i get a CEL, so i reset my ecu so i don't have to go to toyota or a dealer just to get them to turn it off and say 'yup, that's good oil allright' thumbsdown

That sounds weird. Why would you get a CEL after an oil change? I never get CEL and I have exhaust Intake etc.
