I took my air box apart last night, to get to my linkages to lube them as part of routine maintenance. I noticed the butterfly valve could be removed from the air box, so I took it completely out.
I plugged up the tube that went to the valve on the butterfly, and put the butterfly in my back seat.
The engine can finally breathe, and it ROARS. it takes 3 seconds to reinstall the butterfly, so if you, like me, are worried about problems with hydrolocking/dealer with having a CAI
, it might be worth the 5 minutes it takes to remove the butterfly housing completely, freeing up the airway into the filter.
What a difference!
