i always use meguiars gold class for soap, and a microfiber rag for the washing. then i go over it with the absorber. every few washes or so i will put a coat of final detail on.

eek...and you wax if afterwards right?? i've heard some expert detailers do that because dishwashing soap eats at some of the remaining oils and stuff previous wax leaves behind...

That's exactly what I've heard. In the directions for the polish I use it says to clean the car with dish detergent because the acids in it remove all the previous waxes. I wouldn't use dish soap for sure unless you're waxing it right after. wave

Dish detergent damgaes the paint on the car in the long run
dish detergent a NO NO!!! even when i don't have money
I would rather wash it with plain water than using dish detergent

you should only use dish soap when you are strippinig the wax and only then.
go to wal mart and get a 2 gallon jug of car wash soap and it will last you a long time.

i either wash it at home with Mr. Clean auto dry... or take it to one of those power washing booths and wash it... then i use "wax as you dry" stuff and dry the whole car really well... even if i use auto dry i still hand dry with the wax as you dry stuff...

sometimes i clay bar areas, but not often, too time consuming

^^^ you should wax afterwards if it is needed.

also that wax as you dry stuff isn't really a wax and is jstu to make it shine a lil better it doesn't prptect much if at all.

put on a good coat of wax once every 2 months atleast.

I do a triple coat of wax once every three months, except I do it twice during the summer (cali sun).

If I knew I had to wax my car everytime I washed it, the thing would be dirty 95% of the time rofl
