what does gt stand for? its not only on celica's either...like in general why do car companies use gt, what does it really mean? anyone know?

my best guess is gran turismo...and i think thats a pretty crummy guess

Gran Tourismo a.k.a Grand Touring. It basically describes/classifies a car in a class known for its handling.
