I've heard that putting on a turbo is a lot of work. It's not only the turbo, but because of all the added power and stuff, you have to replace all the little stock parts too and that can add up to quite a pretty penny. Is that true?? How much can it add up to?? Anybody got any recommendations about what to do?? Maybe it makes a difference that I tell y'all that I have a auto GT. Thank you in advance for all replies.

some kits will come with everything you need. So the only thing that is reccommended to change is the clutch. Since you have an auto, its all good.

There's not many parts that you need to replace if you're not running a high PSI. Some kits don't require you to replace anything, such as the Stafford Fabrications kits. Others, like Dave Draper's kit you'll have to replace the injectors, but that's about all.

One thing I would recommend would be a limited slip differential. This way you'll have better traction and the car is less likely to slip when turning and accelerating.

Actually, Drapers kit comes with injectors as well. Correct me if I'm wrong though but I'm pretty sure it does.

YUP!...it seems DD's kit will accomodate the manual and auto nicely with just the usage of stock parts (the kit comes with everything you need). for 3500 (plus 800-1000 for install)it's a great deal!

the only reason i'm not going with the turbo is accelerated engine wear...but if it wasn't for that i'd get the DD kit

DD's kit is set up to where you do not have to worry about this engine wear. FXMAN talked with Draper on the phone for like an hour or so about the kit. And this kit is like a dream come true. The only thing is, if you don't have the funds it sucks. Like college kids, such as me, do not have 4000 to just throw down. Wish I did though. Maybe I'll get another job or invest in stocks. Anyways, Drapers kit comes with everything, although he does recommend you change your clutch. So you might as well get the flywheel (which benefits turbo cars greatly) and an LSD. thumbsup
