Well I got my 2000 GTS this last monday and I wanted to put my Pioneer in it...well there is a factory amp and is there any harnesses to bypass it. or will i have to throw a cross over for the tweets and hard wire the radio...how did all of you with aftermarket decks go about this?

the amp is behind the glove box and you need to catch all of the speakers before they hit the amp and rewire them to the sterio... takes about 30 mins to an hour GL thumbsup

From what I've heard, there is a wiring harness that works instead of hard-wiring everything...

Yup, you can pick it up at crutchfield.com, they even send you an install guide when you order.

Well I got my stereo in today. I am totally disappointed. My 12W7 hit a 147 in my 95 Monte Carlo and in my Celica its a lot less...and I thought you gained by going to a hatch back. So I am disappointed in the Celica for SPL. loss tons...The car flexs outward bad. it doenst hold the sound for anything...

Well its true. The box has a big thing to do with it because it doest fit well in my car. Well I have a 12 inch JL Audio W7 and a JL Audio 1000/1 and in my Monte i hit a 147 and in the Celica i hit 142...I am sure my box has a lot to do with it but any box suggestions would help alot.

so i have to get all the speaker wires that are connected to the factory amp, and connect them directly to the head unit? is there a diagram that shows which wires are the right ones? i have a 2003 celica GT. thanks.

Well i am 100% sure my box is the reason for the DB loss. I put JL's HO box in my car and it was a lot louder. So I am going to build a custom box like the HO box that will fit flush against the back seats.
