when you get the mesh, cut it to fit the opening then use some Fiberglass. probably could use something else to bond it to the inside but not to sure what
Surf on over to mcmaster.com and go to catalog page 3433 and scroll down to aluminum perforated sheet. Look for part number 9232T221. The perf on the fenders in your pic appears to be .250 holes with a .312 spacing. web page [mcmaster.com] Good luck. . .
