NO, it does not make 500 whp stock. That motor is not stock. It has a Turbo upgrade and other things. It is not a stock 3s-gte. stock 3s-gte motors have anywhere from 200-240 hp i believe depending on the generation.

I'm definitely considering this... does anyone know how much does an engine go for? and how much mods have to be done to fit the engine into our chasis?

don't think so...but japanese people usually ship their engines here after 20K or 30K miles..so that's good for us.

and i don't know the difference of generations but the one my friend's got has 225 hp stock from japan, but the 3sgte's here are usually 200 from all-trac celicas n mr2s..i think the big difference is the chip.

totaljdm.com is a good site to check out for the 3SGTE. since your car is front wheel drive you may need to use the 2nd gen MR2 motor along with the the transmission, gearbox and driveshafts. i'm not sure if that is accurate information but i'm learning as much as i can for i'm interested in the swap.

i've got the info on the 3sgte generations...if i remember correctly they're all 2.0L engines pwer depends on the Turbo n manifold:

1st gen = 190 hp
2nd gen = 225 hp
3rd gen = 255 hp <---- CRAZY!!
