If you're talking about shifting from drive to neutral(a.k.a. neutral drop) can really mess up your tranny.

no i think he just means how he can shift with it.

well MAKE SURE OVER DRIVE IS OFF,from a stop you can start in "L" and then just push the lever up when you need to shift up, then you're at 2 from there just shift up again to D, since the overdrive is off you'll be in 3rd gear, then just hit the over drive button again to go to 4th gear (essentially an up shift) the reason you must turn the overdrive off, is that the tranny will behave properly when you shift from "L" to "2". i did that one time and it did not seitch from 1st gear is stayed there and i redlined.

oh yeah i forgot to say if you do this all the time it may be harmful to the tranny. once in a while it should be fine. and if you need to down shift you can. just hit the overdrive button to turn it off and you'll be in 3rd gear. then if you still need to go lower just press and hold the shift button and pull the knob down to "2" also works for "L" but be careful not to over do it. you might end up over reving and killing the motor.

You can shift by going through the gears on the shifter... but on the GTS it actually has a manual mode with shifting on the wheel. Almost all sporty cars today have a manual mode like that in their autos. Even if you don't race, it's a huge plus if you're not stick and are on a steep hill.

^^ Nope. Its just like shifting in an auto, except you pick the gear.
